Communication problems

The workers are not able to explain whatever you wish or want to know, ie. How your system works, and what needs to be done. "I don't know, you talk to my boss", Is that the answer you usually get?

Pool technicians are not trained
Many in this industry are not trained personnel. They do not go through any specialization training, thus when you have repair problems, there is a long waiting time, they do not know where to get the items and how to replace them. Thus, this will give you a headache with the long lead times and incur additional costs, as they will sub this task out to a third party.
Response time
Reaction time is crucial in this industry. Imagine a pipe is leaking and you can't find the technicians. Although you might have the contact number for the company, they will refer you to a different department. Some things cannot be put on hold, especially when you are in a hotel or condominium. As most of our clienteles are hotels, we are used to a swift response time within 2 hours. Give us a call and we will be there.
Manpower issues
Most of the companies are registered under engineering to hire foreign workers at a lower cost. But the fact is that they are not allowed to perform maintenance jobs. Thus, this COVID-19 has proven that many of them experience manpower issues and some are not even allowed to operate during the lockdown period. Will this ever happen again? I do not know... But it's better to be safe than sorry.
